Just to support the project - it's very promising. I downloaded and tested the IDE, and even if I'm experiencing problems with the desktop interpreter (which crashes randomly), I really like the whole tool. Hope this evolves quickly in a stable release, I'll be checking often!

Thanks for your support ;)

We want to use the windows IDE for developing a commercial game and I really hope to get some crashes in order to fix them, actually it's working pretty well on my machine

Which Windows version are you using?
Did you experience the crashes under particular circumstances (while debugging, while inserting breakpoint, while adding resources, while watching TV etc..) ? :D

If you can/want, please report crashes when you get them ;)

Regards.

Well it's not crashes really: running some of the sample scripts, the "emulator" window simply disappears with no errors and the program stops; the IDE keeps running. Happens quite randomly, but "print" statement seems to always start the whole issue.

I'm on Windows XP SP2, but my Pc is the worst possible scenario: being a software developer myself, it's full of components, dlls, etc; in fact, I don't think it's the best configuration to test an early release for stability :D That's why I did not post in "bugs" thread.

I have some virtual machines with "clean" Windows installations, from Win98 to Vista and everything in between, which I use for testing my own projects. If you think it may help, I could test FBA on those machines, just let me know!

Mmm...the player stop by itself with no reason:

a) if the player is not started yet (you see only a black screen): when the IDE and the player cannot start debugging session on defined tcp socket. The player has a timeout fixed to 10 seconds.

b) if the player was already started (you entered at least one time in the onmainloop): the socket used between the IDE and the player is closed (actually it should happen only when you call the quit() command, you manually close the player or you stop the project running from the IDE)

That's very weird, in both cases  .
Which is the your by the way?

P.S: you've a private message :)

It's b, and it's exactly as you described: onmainloop starts (I can run it step-by-step), then suddenly the player exits as if you terminated the program.

Very very weird,
i have to figure why an already established tcp connection,
could be killed without a reason (external programs? :?: )

Yes! :)

It was Kaspersky Antivirus; I disabled modules one by one until I found out which one was causing the issue: and it's "proactive defense", an heuristic module. After disabling that, everything works perfectly (even on my Pc which is kind of a dll jungle).

Anyone experiencing problems with the player should probably disable some modules of their security softwares.
